Jeremiah 51:17-18 (NKJV)
Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge; Every metalsmith is put to shame by the carved image; For his molded image is falsehood, And there is no breath in them. They are futile, a work of errors; In the time of their punishment they shall perish.

Book: Lamentations

Author: Not stated but traditionally attributed to Jeremiah.

Date: Probable around 586 BC, shortly after the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians.

In ten words or less: A despairing poem about the destruction of Jerusalem.
