Fruit of the Spirit; Peace
Galatians 5:22-26 (ESV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Okay the context of Galatians 5 is showing the difference between carnality(walking in the flesh) and spirituality(God’s Spirit in you). Notice that the word fruit in verse 22 is singular, not plural. These are not fruits of the spirit but evidence of the Holy spirit within manifesting these attributes in you. In other words, making you more like Jesus.
Today I am focusing on Peace. Through many scriptures peace is defined as an inward feeling of security and well being. This is the Hebrew word shālôm
(Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary).
Esther 10:3 (ESV) For Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Ahasuerus, and he was great among the Jews and popular with the multitude of his brothers, for he sought the welfare of his people and spoke peace to all his people.
Numbers 6:22-26 (ESV) The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them,
The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
