Galatians 5:22-26 (ESV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Okay the context of Galatians 5 is showing the difference between carnality(walking in the flesh) and spirituality(God’s Spirit in you). Notice that the word fruit in verse 22 is singular, not plural. These are not fruits of the spirit but evidence of the Holy spirit within manifesting these attributes in you. In other words, making you more like Jesus.
Today I am focusing on patience. God wants you to wait on Him, be patient in doing His will. See the warning in Romans 2:8 about the opposite of patience.
Luke 8:15 (KJV) But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Romans 2:6-8 (ESV) He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.
