Daily Service: Is that in the Bible?

Daily Service: Is that in the Bible?

 If you have been reading my posts, books, Facebook or whatever for very long, you should know that I like to verify my sources.  I have posted several things that people claimed were biblical but couldn’t show me (There but for the grace of God go I comes to mind).  I have always had a quote on my mind, but I wanted to find out if it had a biblical base. The line is “O for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer’s praise”.  What I found below was part of a larger hymn that John and Charles Wesley wrote this in 1739 (Hymns and Sacred Poems). I live by this passage: 1 John 4:1 (KJV) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Here is the song, and I have included 2 YouTube videos; traditional and contemporary)

Video: Traditional  Video: Contemporary

1 O for a thousand tongues to sing

my great Redeemer’s praise,

the glories of my God and King,

the triumphs of his grace!

2 My gracious Master and my God,

assist me to proclaim,

to spread thro’ all the earth abroad

the honors of your name.

3 Jesus! the name that charms our fears,

that bids our sorrows cease,

’tis music in the sinner’s ears,

’tis life and health and peace.

4 He breaks the power of cancelled sin,

he sets the prisoner free;

his blood can make the foulest clean;

his blood availed for me.

5 To God all glory, praise, and love

be now and ever given

by saints below and saints above,

the Church in earth and heaven.

Revelation 5:11-12 NKJV Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

I invite comment and discussion on this, other examples, scripture quotes attached with songs?
