Daily Service: a new commandment

John 13:34-35 NKJV A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

This is around the same time Jesus endorsed the 10 commandments but reduced them to 2

John 3:16-18 (NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Matthew 22:36-40 NKJV “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

And we’re back to the daily verse today to make the point very clear.

1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

So here it is:  Christian, if you aren’t loving, you aren’t Christ’s disciple, right?
