Book: Isaiah

Author: Isaiah, son of Amoz (1:1).

Date: Around 740-700 BC, starting “in the year that King Uzziah died” (6:1).

In ten words or less: A coming Messiah will save people from their sins. “From Know Your Bible, published by Barbour Publishing, Inc. Used by permission”

Isaiah 1:16-20 (NKJV) “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

Hebrews 9:1 (NKJV) Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary.

Hebrews 9:11 (NKJV) But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
