Weather Update: Disturbance Developing North of Pohnpei
600 PM – 2 November 2019
We’ve been monitoring the gradual development of a tropical disturbance now centered north of Pohnpei, near 11.9N 158.6E.
This disturbance is expected to continue toward the northwest, with a gradual turn to the north, keeping east of the Marianas. Therefore, we expect no impacts from this disturbance. It is slowly becoming better organized and could become a tropical depression in the coming days, but again, east of the Marianas.
Looking ahead, this disturbance could generate a brief monsoon surge across the region and could result in the formation of another circulation/disturbance south or southeast of the Marianas in the coming week.
We’ll keep you updated to any significant changes or development in the tropics.
