Daily Service – Have you ever read a Bible?

Daily Service – Have you ever read a Bible?

I’m not trying to insult anyone, but I read this line in a Christian Romance twice today.  The plot was something like this: A women gets away for a very restrictive Christian group that teaches that women are property; they only have value if a man marries her and she can only be saved if he marries her.  Long story short, she grew up thinking that she knew God and the scriptures, but she got only the wrath and anger, not the love and forgiveness. Twice in the book (Mac – Sisters by Design Book 1 by Sharon Srock) are concerned because she rejects any notion of getting to know the real God.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

So let me ask you Christian – Have you read your Bible for yourself or are you taking someone’s word for everything?
