Recently after church, a sister came up to my wife and apologized for keeping her books so long. She returned 2 bags of books (all Christian fiction) with thanks. I didn’t think much more about it and a few days later I was clearing out the car for shopping I moved the books into the house to be put away this verse occurred to me:
Philippians 4:8-9 NKJV Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
Do you want to be closer to God? Hold everything you do, see, and say up to this verse and ask if it is good for you or for the person you are reaching out to.
Is “it” (the movie, the song, the book, the relationship, the words you want say) true? Noble? Pure? Lovely? Of good report?
