Running on empty? (Jackson Brown 1977) Reminds me of an old song from my youth.
My daughter asked me to take her car on base and gas it up. It was 30 miles from empty. Do you wait until your Holy spirit tank is empty before you go to church and fill up?
Do you find yourself running out of gas between the gathering of the saints?
First of all, you need to pray for wisdom and strength. Don’t make God your last call.
Hebrews 10:25-31 (KJV) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden underfoot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Two thoughts follow: If you are a Christian and you are trying to follow Christ you will do better and be stronger in a fellowship of believers.
If you are a Christian leader of any kind, try to remember:
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
You think about that. Amen!
