Daily Service: Trust and Fear

The current crisis (COVID 19) is scaring everybody.  I believe that many Christians read my posts, so I’ll go with the Biblical response first.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Luke 2:10 (ESV) And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

For all of us:

Comply with local authorities concerning shutdowns and isolations.  The intent is to limit the spread of the virus.

The news media is not helping with the doom and gloom stories that get them ratings. We need the good news stories, but they won’t carry them.  This is a good time to watch Twitter feeds that you trust, not standard media outlets that make money off of disaster.

The bottom line is, what are you so afraid of?

Maybe this is where we need to discuss your eternity.  Are you secure? Do you know what happens if/when you die?  Do you want to discuss it?

You think about that. Amen!

  1. Coronavirus is just a nudge from God towards the right direction in order to ensure humanities continued long term survival.

Since despite the bad it’s creating?

Look at all the good that is rising from it as well in terms of refocusing humanity towards healthier lives and cleaner environments.

There is a curse behind every blessing just like there is a blessing behind every curse.

Life is designed that way to prevent us from becoming robotic, dull and boring.

Think of life as a story, without some drama?

The story would get really boring really fast and for someone who watches for all of eternity?

Having highs and lows throughout life just makes more sense.
