Okay, once again my son reminds me. Anne McCaffrey is a fine writer and most of her work fits well in the science fiction genre. Restoree is an awesome job. Her first full novel, we have a girl hero for once. She has invented entire alien races, but only describes them in limited detail. The main focus of the story is Sara who is apparently harvested from New York City (great explanation for a lot of unexplained absences huh?). I also noticed she didn’t spend a whole lot of time dating the piece. New York Central Park July evening is somewhat generic. So what I learned from this story is you can introduce a lot and not flesh it out, focus on the main storyline to carry the tale. Good job Anne.
