Daily Service: Red Letters
Have you heard the song Red Letters by DC Talk (included in the blog post
)? I have found that when I read a King James Bible with the words of Jesus in red that I get a more intimate insight to the Glory that awaits us.
This setting is also right around “Jesus wept (John 11:35)” also. By now most of you also know that I don’t separate God into three persons. Jesus was wholly God and wholly Man. This is one of those “God Moments” you hear about. “How often I wanted to gather your children together as a he gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing”. God is crying over the nation he called His own because they have repeatedly rebelled against His leading and His Law. True to form, they will kill the prophet; or more appropriately they will knowingly kill the king’s son to take the kingdom for themselves.
Luke 13:34-35 (NKJV) “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’[Psalm 118:26]”
Here is another one. Tell me if Jesus the man or Jesus as God was talking:
Luke 22:41-42 (ESV)
And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.
