Daily Service: Speak the truth in love

Ephesians 4:15-16 (ESV) Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. God calls us to be truthful but loving. I need to temper my responses, especially to those who are not of the faith.  Love reaches better and makes more people amenable to hearing the truth, rather that beating them in the head with a Bible thinking they will receive the truth when their beliefs are belittled. Think back on your own experience: how did you come to faith in Christ? Was it a preacher scaring you in with fire and brimstone or was it someone you knew that was loving and caring when others didn’t give you the time of day. Now it is your turn to grow in God’s love and show that love to someone that desperately needs a Savior.
