Daily Service – Honor your Husband (second in a series)

I am gathering specific verses about specific roles in the Christian world view.  I say that because other cultures, religions, and world views differ greatly in these regards, specifically where it concerns women and children. God says submit to your husband.

1 Peter 3:1-2 (AMP) IN LIKE manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them], so that even if any do not obey the Word [of God], they may be won over not by discussion but by the [godly] lives of their wives, When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him—to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband].

Proverbs 12:4 (NKJV) An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.

Ephesians 5:22-24 (NKJV) Wives submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. I know that it is not popular or politically correct to tell women to submit to men. But let me be clear here as I was before.  I am talking to Christians and about their own husbands.  I am not condoning abuse or slavery. Read the context. God wants you to be protected from a violent selfish world.
