Author: Not stated but traditionally attributed to Jeremiah.

Date: Probable around 586 BC, shortly after the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians.

In ten words or less: A despairing poem about the destruction of Jerusalem.

Lamentations 1:22 (NKJV) “Let all their wickedness come before You, And do to them as You have done to me For all my transgressions; For my sighs are many, And my heart is faint.”


Psalm 119:33-35 (NKJV) Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
