Bible Reading Enhances Any Day (BREAD)

Daily Bible Reading: 1 John 4-5, 2 John, 3 John

1 John 5:1-5 (NKJV) Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Book: 2 John

Author: The Apostle John according to church tradition.  The author is identified only by “the elder” (1:1)

Date: Approximately AD 92.

In ten words or less: Beware false teachers who deny Jesus’ physical life on earth.

2 John 1:7-10 (NKJV) For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;

3 John 1:11 (NKJV) Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.
