From recent books I’ve read:

ge·stalt | \ gə-ˈstält  , -ˈshtält, -ˈstȯlt, -ˈshtȯlt  \plural gestalts also gestalten\ gə-ˈstäl-tᵊn  , -ˈshtäl- , -ˈstȯl- , -ˈshtȯl- \

Definition of gestalt

something that is made of many parts and yet is somehow more than or different from the combination of its partsWhen he gets rolling, you’re not responding to single jokes—it’s the whole gestalt of the movie that’s funny.— Pauline Kael

Vikki Kestell is a Christian author my wife and I follow because her books quite of challenge us about what we believe and why. In the last series we read about Laynie Portland and the spy series. In the last book Laynie motivates her team with the concept of gestalt. The all came out of their individual offices and worked better together when the accepted that all members of team had something to say and that was the best part.

Soul winning – I am reading a book that challenges everything I was ever taught about soul winning. Here is the premise: people aren’t coming to your church no matter how fancy your building, praise team or other ministries. YOU are the difference in your community. Take Christ to those who need Him and He will draw them where the need to be.

Any feedback or scriptures would be appreciated.
