Daily Bible Reading: Proverbs 22-24, 2 Corinthians 8

Proverbs 22:1 NKJV A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold.[1]

22:1. Having a good name (cf. 3:4; Ecc. 7:1), that is, an honorable reputation because of good character, is to be valued far above having much wealth. Riches are useless (cf. Prov. 1:19; 10:2, 13:11) if in gaining them one ruins his character.[2]
