WOW, what a ride!
There is so much goodness packed into this story and God is all the way through it. People still have problems with “biracial” marriages, Sophie is at once a victor and a victim. Lance is driven to succeed but always feels like an outsider until a disaster pulls the town together. I mostly like pastor Daddy and his love for his non-biological daughter. “just pray” daughter? Pray first, last, and always. You never say “I guess I can pray about it”.
