Overcome the Invisible Today’s Verse: He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers all things have been created through him and for him. – Colossians 1:15-16 Colossians is a small but important book in the New Testament written to describe what it truly means to understand who Christ is and what He has called us to do. Paul is speaking about the sovereignty of God. He is giving his readers a description of God’s power and authority over all things. When we struggle with the invisible or unknown in our lives, let us remember that Jesus has overcome both the visible and the invisible. While we cannot see God, we can always embrace the fact that He is there with us, guiding us through every challenge in our lives. Today, remind yourself that God is in control and that while you may not understand or comprehend what you are going through, you can rest assured that He truly does and is there to help you. – Commentary by Matthew J. Elliott Today’s Prayer: Jesus, thank You for everything. Even though we may not understand why we go through certain things, You do, and You are with us. Be our guide with every step we take. Amen.
