Daily Service: Can we talk?

My wife’s best friend called right after we dropped her off. She was dealing with several issues including health issues. She is an older Palauan woman; her upbringing made her self-sufficient and independent so she has a hard time asking for help.

What blessed me was that she said she wanted me to look at something and give her some input. She also said she was comfortable with me because she knows that I will not belittle her or insult her.

Here is what I took away from this:

Proverbs 27:6 (ESV) Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.

Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV) A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 15:22-23 (ESV) Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers, they succeed. To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is!
