6/28/18 Daily Bible Reading:  Job 19-21, Proverbs 28

Proverbs 28:1-3 (NKJV)
The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion. Because of the transgression of a land, many are its princes; But by a man of understanding and knowledge Right will be prolonged. A poor man who oppresses the poor Is like a driving rain which leaves no food.

6/27/18 Daily Bible Reading: Job 16-18, Romans 11, Proverbs 27

Job 16:19-21 (KJV)
Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high. My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God. O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour!

Job 16:19-21 (AMP)
Even now, behold, my Witness is in heaven, and He who vouches for me is on high.
My friends scorn me, but my eye pours out tears to God.
Oh, that there might be one who would plead for a man with God and that he would maintain his right with Him, as a son of man pleads with or for his neighbor! [1 Tim 2:5]

1 Timothy 2:5 (GenevaBible)
For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and man, which is the man Christ Jesus,

Romans 11:11-17 (NKJV)
I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness! For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,

6/26/18 Daily Bible Reading: Job 13-15, Romans 10, Proverbs 26

Isaiah 1:18-20 (KJV)
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Job 13:1-3 (NKJV)

“Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.  What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you. But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God.

Romans 10:11-14 (NKJV)
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

6/25/18 Daily Bible Reading: Job 10-12, Romans 9, Proverbs 25

Romans 9:14-16 (NKJV)
What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

Daily Bible Reading 23 June 2018

6/23/18 Daily Bible Reading: Job 7-9, Romans 8, Proverbs 23

Job 7:1-6 (KJV)
Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work: So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me. When I lie down, I say, When shall I arise, and the night be gone? and I am full of tossings to and fro unto the dawning of the day. My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and become loathsome. My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and are spent without hope.

 Job 9:1-4 (NKJV)
Then Job answered and said: “Truly I know it is so, But how can a man be righteous before God?  If one wished to contend with Him, He could not answer Him one time out of a thousand.
God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?

How could a man plead with God, the majestic Sovereign? (9:1-13) Job would be overwhelmed by Him if he dared confront Him (9:14-20) because, said Job, God destroys people whether they are innocent or not (9:21-24). Even though Job’s case was hopeless (9:25-35), he would speak up anyway (10:1-2) and challenge God for treating His creature cruelly (10:3-17). Job would ask God to give him a little relief before he died (10:18-22).

The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures by Dallas Seminary Faculty.

Romans 8:1 (NKJV)
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Daily Bible Reading 22 June 2018

6/22/18 Daily Bible Reading: Job 4-6, Romans 7, Proverbs 22

Job 4:3-6 (KJV)
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands. Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees. But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled. Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?

Job 5:17-18 (KJV)
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

 Romans 7:6 (KJV)

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
