Daily Service – The Greatest Commandment

The Greatest commandment

You want to see Jesus sum up the whole of Levitical law  in two commandments that trumps everything else ever written?  I mean folks he shut up all the religious leaders of the day with this.

Matthew-22-37-38

Matthew 22:34-40 (KJV)
But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Daily Bible Reading 15 November 2018

11/15/18 Daily Bible Reading: Ezekiel 9-11, 2 Peter 1, Proverbs 15

Ezekiel 9:3-6 (NKJV)
Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub, where it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed with linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn at his side; and the LORD said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.” To the others He said in my hearing, “Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare, nor have any pity. Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple.

Book: 2 Peter

Author: The Apostle Peter (1:1).

Date: Probably the late 60s AD, shortly before Peter’s execution.

In ten words or less: Beware of false teachers within the church.

2 Peter 1:12-15 (NKJV)
For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my decease.

Rapture Review – Who’s Going? – Who’s Left Behind?

Look up, your salvation is nigh

Eternity

The Timing of the Rapture and the Second Coming. Vimeo comment: In this program, Dr. John Ankerberg and his guests, Dr. Renald Showers and Dr. Jimmy DeYoung, discuss the differences between the times when the Rapture and Second Coming will occur. We hope you’ll be encouraged by this program to live each day with a life devoted to the Lord and committed to sharing Him with others.

This teaching is serious! Parents! You must ensure that you and your children will be caught up in the rapture, and will not be left behind to endure the oppression of the anti-Christ, or the judgments of God.

If you, or your children, see nothing wrong with the killing of unborn babies, “you do not have” been born again,” having the Spirit of God dwelling within your spirit, prompting you to righteous living.

If you, or your children, see nothing wrong with homosexuality…

11/14/18 Daily Bible Reading: Ezekiel 6-8, 1 Peter 5, Proverbs 14

Picture this: Israel is God’s chosen people, but they kept turning away to the idolatry of the old religions. Does anybody see a type or a shadow here?

Ezekiel

Ezekiel 6:1-7 (KJV)
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols. And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars. In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished. And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

1 Peter 5:1-4 (NKJV)
The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.

Daily Bible Reading 13 November 2018

11/13/18 Daily Bible Reading:  Ezekiel 3-5,  Proverbs 13

Ezekiel 3:17 (GenevaBible)
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me

Proverbs 13:3 (NKJV)
He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

Daily Service: Hide Your WORD in my heart

DAY 90 Hide Your WORD in my Heart

Again my rant on getting into your Bible.  Why is it so important, in a world that pulls you in all directions, that you work on Bible verse memorization?  Consider David in Psalms:

Psalm 119:11-16 (KJV)
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

I can tell you that a good Bible believing, Bible reading, Bible singing church where you get involved (not just sitting on a pew trying to not to slip off or fall asleep) will ingrain scripture in your heart and mind so that when trials, worries, sickness, temptation come your way, those scriptures hidden in your heart will serve to guide you.  Do we all understand that there are times when you won’t have a Bible close by?

Commit yourself to building up your faith.

USA Veterans Day

Unless You have utterly rejected us, And are very angry with us!

Book: Ezekiel

Author: Ezekiel, a priest (1:1-3).

Date: Approximately the 590s-570s BC.

In ten words or less: Though Israel is in exile, the nation will be restored.

Ezekiel 1:24 (ASV)
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a noise of tumult like the noise of a host: when they stood, they let down their wings.

1 Peter 4:1 (AMP)
SO, SINCE Christ suffered in the flesh for us, for you, arm yourselves with the same thought and purpose [patiently to suffer rather than fail to please God]. For whoever has suffered in the flesh [having the mind of Christ] is done with [intentional] sin [has stopped pleasing himself and the world, and pleases God],
