Daily Service: Looking unto Jesus
Keep your focus on God, not on your surroundings. Two passages came to mind when this thought occurred:
Hebrews 12:1-3 (KJV) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Matthew 14:25-33 (KJV) And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Zechariah 14:9 (NKJV) And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be– “The LORD is one(Deut 6:4),” And His name one.
And the last one, Malachi (did you ever learn the books of the Bible through a song we sang in Sunday School? Amazing what you can remember associated with music)
Book: Malachi
Author: Malachi (1:1), meaning “my messenger”. No other details are given.
Date: Approximately 450 BC.
In ten words or less: The Jews have become careless in their attitude toward God.

Revelation 22:1-3 (NKJV) And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

Are you Ready?
I think it’s Nicole Nordeman who does a song that says “Are you ready”.
Have you looked around at the state of the world lately? My Bible says no man knoweth but it also says be ready!
In a moment, in a twinkling of the eye Christ will call his elect from the clouds.
Are you ready? Are you looking up? Or are you lost in the everyday caring about those around you? Shouldn’t you be telling them that they need to be ready?

Here I am again, trying to encourage you to keep growing in the Word.
Isaiah 28:9-13 (KJV) Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 2 Timothy 2:14-18 (KJV) Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Zechariah 10:5 (NKJV) They shall be like mighty men, Who tread down their enemies In the mire of the streets in the battle. They shall fight because the LORD is with them, And the riders on horses shall be put to shame.

John 8:12 (KJV) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
My wife’s dear sister in the Lord often calls me when she is thinking of a scripture but forgets where it is. As I look it up for her, I reflect what the passage means to us. As long as you are in sin, you are stumbling around in the dark. Of course you may not know any better, but if I am a friend, I should show you the light right?

Zechariah 7:9-10 (NKJV) “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, The alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother.’
Zechariah 9:14 (NKJV) Then the LORD will be seen over them, And His arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord GOD will blow the trumpet, And go with whirlwinds from the south.
Revelation 20:11-15 (NKJV) Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
