Thief of Corinth is an interesting mixture of biblical fiction, historical fiction, real history, romance, thriller, and mystery. It all works rather well together! This book tells the story of pain, betrayal, sacrifice, family trouble, love, women-power, and forgiveness.
In the first half of this tale, you probably won’t notice that it’s biblically-based. I didn’t even make the connection of one of the main character’s name, Dionysius, to the Bible until Paul became a part of the story. The second half of this book is very religious and does a great job of “bringing the bible to life.”
Thief of Corinth was almost like a Robin Hood retelling. It had all the elements of that story with even more drama! One action scene in chapter ten also reminded me of Aladdin.
When I was just starting to think that the story-line was fairly predictable, it had a dramatic twist. I really enjoyed being surprised. I did feel like there were a few too many coincidences, but I suppose that is just fiction for you.
I’m about 15% done reading it myself.
And I am now on my fourth of her books: Land of Silence
