Lost without God

Healthline article about holiday depression

Okay I’ll connect all of these posts when I get home and get on a computer.

In prayer this morning before service, I asked God what he wanted me to do. The Sunday school lesson was the 5th in a series our pastor has been working on was titled what’s next.

So I challenge you especially if you name yourself Christian to look around you.  Who do you know amongst your family, friends, coworkers that might be feeling about blue and lonely this holiday season? Offer them the love and grace that God granted you and tier them that there is hope.

Lost without God

I was just wondering as I reread my Holiday Blues post.  Do you think in general people that commit suicide over the holidays simply lack the knowledge that God Loves them?

To clarify, if you read the post I have dear close Christian friends that recognize those blues because they’ve been there.  And more to the point, they knew that only relying on God would bring them through it.

Look around you this season and see if you can give someone some hope.  I invite all of you to join me at the church I attend.

You are my God
And I will ever praise You

You are my God
And I will ever praise You
I will seek You in the morning
I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You’ll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

And step by step You’ll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

Psalm 63:1-11 (ESV) O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. But those who seek to destroy my life shall go down into the depths of the earth; they shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be a portion for jackals. But the king shall rejoice in God; all who swear by him shall exult, for the mouths of liars will be stopped.

World economy talk with gumballs

Facebook video about world hunger

My concern with this video is this: could it really be truet 3.3 of the 7 billion people(almost half) on this planet are extremely poor.  That being said, his bottom line is very good.  Encourage the people that can make a change to make it where they live instead of coming to the states and leaving everybody else poor.

Prayers of a Righteous Man

The prayers of a righteous man

Are you righteous before God or are you self-righteous?

Proverbs 21:2-3 (ESV) Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart. To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

1 Peter 3:12 (NKJV) For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.”

James 5:16 (NKJV) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Don’t save it all

I was praying this morning as I headed out to check the mail and go to the pharmacy for my wife (She woke up with that virus or whatever is running around our church after a Ladies Christmas Fellowship).  I was asking God what I should put out after that last post (Daily Service: Greatest Commandment)

When the word LOVE invaded again, and this song was playing as I was driving.  In a nutshell, don’t just love everybody extra because it’s Christmas.  Love everybody around you extra all the time.

Avalon – Joy “Don’t save it all for Christmas Day”

“Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day”
Don’t get so busy that you miss
Giving just a little kiss to the ones you love
Don’t even wait a little while
To give them just a little smile, a little is enough

See how many people are crying
Some people are dying
How many people are asking for love

So don’t save it all for Christmas day
Find a way to give a little love everyday
Don’t save it all for Christmas day
Find a way, ’cause holidays have come and gone
But love lives on if you give on love

How could you wait another minute
A hug is warmer when you’re in it, oh, baby, that’s a fact
And saying, ‘I love you’s” always better
Seasons, reasons, they don’t matter, so don’t hold back

See how many people in this world
So needful in this world
How many people are praying for love

So don’t save it all for Christmas day
Find a way to give a little love everyday
Don’t save it all for Christmas day
Find a way, ’cause holidays have come and gone
But love lives on if you give on, give love

So let all the children know
Everywhere that they go
Their whole life long
Let them know love

Daily Service: Greatest Commandment

Daily Service Greatest Commandment

Matthew 22:34-40 (ESV) But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

If you love God and your Neighbor, all of the Law is satisfied.  The ministry of Christ was LOVE and reconciliation.  If I am a follower of Christ I must LOVE the way He Loved ME.

Jonah 1:1-3 (NKJV) Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,  “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

Revelation 12:5 (NKJV) She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.
