Daily Service: Testimony

DAY 71

Testimony

My journey with God began the summer of my 13th birthday.  I spent several weeks with my sister Paula and her new Air Force Husband Earl Copple in Altus Oklahoma.  I went to church with them and on Sunday evening I went down the aisle, confessed my sins and was baptized.  The problem was that when I went back to Las Vegas I had no church family, no one to follow or encourage me and I wandered around doing my own thing for 20+ years until I walked into a Pentecostal Church on Guam in 1990 to find the Lord waiting for my return with open arms. I felt what many people who came through that church at one time or another: Jesus met me at the door.  The ministry that Brother and Sister Bettis started in their home in Nimitz Estates has shown the light of the gospel to so many people over the years.  Sharon and I were baptized on Liberation Day 1991 and we have never looked back.  I didn’t feel a need to go back to the states when I retired so we stayed here. I consider this as much of a mission field as the wilds of Africa.  There are so many people out here in the islands that need to hear the Word of God from us. Thank you Sister Bettis.

Ephesians 4:15 (KJV)
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Mark 16:15-16 (KJV)
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
