Daily Service: Fathers

DAY 82

Fathers

Dads, can God say this about you?

Genesis 18:19 NKJV
For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”

God placed man at the head of the household.  You Dad must lead by example. In prayer, in Bible study, in fellowship, in church.  Your kids will follow your example, make no mistake about that.  But I have to look at myself first and say, “What am I communicating to my kids?”

1 John 2:13-15 (AMP)
I am writing to you, fathers, because you have come to know (recognize, be aware of, and understand) Him Who [has existed] from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have been victorious over the wicked [one]. I write to you, boys (lads), because you have come to know (recognize and be aware) of the Father.
I write to you, fathers, because you have come to know (recognize, be conscious of, and understand) Him Who [has existed] from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong and vigorous, and the Word of God is [always] abiding in you (in your hearts), and you have been victorious over the wicked one.
Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.

Colossians 3:17-20 (AMP)
And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.  Wives, be subject to your husbands [subordinate and adapt yourselves to them], as is right and fitting and your proper duty in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives [be affectionate and sympathetic with them] and do not be harsh or bitter or resentful toward them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.
