God has left the building

I have an opinion as to why mainstream church organizations fail. Man made religion tends to fail because God gets excluded in the interest of organization or increased membership, increased profit motive, or all of the above.

But rather than throw out the baby with the bath water, let’s re-examine exactly what the church is  supposed to be and start working back to that. The church is the body of Christ. If Christ is not at center of your focus you have been misled.

And just in case you are wondering, yes, I am an active member of a UPCI affiliate here on Guam. The first thing you’ll hear over our pulpit is the relationship is you and Jesus, but you worship with a group of like minded saints.

Matthew 7:21-23 (AMP) Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. [Psalm 6:8]
