Bible Reading Enhances Any Day (BREAD)

Daily Bible Reading: Job 8-9, 1 Thessalonians 2

Job 9:1-4 (NKJV) Then Job answered and said: “Truly I know it is so, But how can a man be righteous before God? If one wished to contend with Him, He could not answer Him one time out of a thousand. God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?

How could a man plead with God, the majestic Sovereign? (9:1-13) Job would be overwhelmed by Him if he dared confront Him (9:14-20) because, said Job, God destroys people whether they are innocent or not (9:21-24). Even though Job’s case was hopeless (9:25-35), he would speak up anyway (10:1-2) and challenge God for treating His creature cruelly (10:3-17). Job would ask God to give him a little relief before he died (10:18-22).

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (NKJV) Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
