Book: Lamentations

Author: Not stated but traditionally attributed to Jeremiah.

Date: Probable around 586 BC, shortly after the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians.

In ten words or less: A despairing poem about the destruction of Jerusalem.

Lamentations 1:22 (NKJV) “Let all their wickedness come before You, And do to them as You have done to me For all my transgressions; For my sighs are many, And my heart is faint.”

Proverbs 4:7-8 (KJV) Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
