Daily Bible Reading: Obadiah, Revelation 9

Book: Obadiah

Author: Obadiah (1:1), perhaps a person by that name or a unnamed prophet for whom “Obadiah”(meaning “servant of God”) is a title.

Date: Unclear but probably within 30 years after Babylon’s invasion of Judah in 586 BC.

In ten words or less: Edom will suffer for participating in Jerusalem’s destruction.

Obadiah 1:6 (NKJV) “Oh, how Esau shall be searched out!

Revelation 9:5-6 (NKJV) And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
