Daily Service: Honor your wife; their mother

Okay, this is just a bit early for Mother’s Day, but I thought I’d remind all of us husbands and fathers that we have a responsibility to lead and defend the family. 

1 Peter 3:7 (KJV) Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

1 Peter 3:7 (NKJV) Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

1 Peter 3:7 (AMP) In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God’s unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise, you cannot pray effectively.]

You see the warning here?  That your prayers may not be hindered.  You, my dear man, are the head of your household. You lead, you defend, you protect, and let God take care of the rest.
