Daily Bible Reading: Proverbs 1-4

Proverbs 1:1-5 (NKJV) The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:  To know wisdom and instruction, To perceive the words of understanding, To receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity;  To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion– A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,

Proverbs 2:1-5 (NKJV) My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.

Proverbs 3:1-6 (KJV) My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For the length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 4:7-8 (KJV) Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her.
