DAILY SERVICE: Blessing

On my blog, I just posted most of Psalm 67 in the past 5 days, but my Tecarta hit me between the eyes with the Messianic Prophecy that verse 2 alludes to. But even more, I saw the Levitical Blessing from Numbers 6.  I have posted both commentary points for your consideration.  This verse blessed me so much that I had to investigate it

Psalm 67:2 AMP That Your way may be known upon earth, Your saving power (Your deliverances and Your salvation) among all nations. [1]

Psalm 67:2 NKJV That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.[2]

67:2 Could the psalm writer have looked across the years to see the gospel go throughout the earth? This psalm surely speaks of the fulfillment of the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20), when Jesus commanded that the gospel be taken to all nations. Count yourself among that great crowd of believers worldwide who know the Savior, praise him for the Good News, and share that gospel so that the harvest will be abundant.

67:1–2. The writer asked for God’s merciful dealings by using part of the priestly blessing (v. 1; see Num. 6:24–26). God’s making His face shine on them refers to divine favor and approval (cf. comments on Ps. 4:6). The purpose of this prayer is that God’s saving ways would be known throughout the world. For if God saved them, others would hear of it.[3]

Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” ’[4]
