Daily Bible Reading: Isaiah 49-53

Isaiah 49:1-3 (NKJV) “Listen, O coastlands, to Me, and take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother, He has made mention of My name.  And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand, He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.” and He said to me, ‘You are My servant, O Israel, In whom I will be glorified.’

 

Isaiah 51:6 (NKJV) Lift up your eyes to the heavens and look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, The earth will grow old like a garment, and those who dwell in it will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not be abolished.

 

Isaiah 53:2 (NKJV) For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.

 

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NKJV) Surely, He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
