Unexpected Bride Annie by Margaret Tanner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Tale of two sisters Josephine is the pretty, vain one who gets away with everything and thinks she deserves it. Annie is the plainer, hard-working helpful sister, who ran off the get married but is widowed at a young age bringing back a daughter. Josephine has had a long-standing relationship with Reed Butler, getting money from him while seeing another guy. Josephine uses a clause in their father’s will to kick Annie out of the house and tells her to go to Carson City where Reed is expecting her to be his wife. Without revealing the entire plot it gets really interesting from here.

A letter was supposed to be sent, but it never arrived.

This letter sets off a chain reaction that could destroy the lives of Annie and Reed.

Widowed and with a small child to support, Annie sets off for Nevada expecting to marry Reed.

Betrayed by Josephine, the woman he has always loved, Reed is shocked when her sister Annie arrives unexpectedly to marry him.

What chance does this marriage have with the specter of Josephine always creating a barrier between them?
