Before you go to bed tonight pray about your church service tomorrow. Let’s all keep in mind that we gather together to worship God, not to gossip and compare outfits. I am feeling the effects of intense corporate prayer as the congregations and leadership of the UPC in Micronesia touch the throne of God. Be prayed up before you walk into church and bring the presence of God into the sanctuary with you.

Daily Service: If/Then
The beginning of computer programming: if/then statements are a logic loop that showed up much earlier: in the Bible. I was researching for this article when I googled this:
Psalm 37:4-5
IF you “Delight yourself also in the Lord,” THEN “He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
This is one of my favorites. If we are happy to be serving the Lord, then God will give us the desires of our heart. Think about it. If we are serving God as we should then the desires of our heart will be to do what He wants and expects us to do. It becomes an unending loop. Kind of like the old fashioned computer loop.
In my school days (ahem, years ago) when we wrote the command “if, then” to the computer it went into a loop that kept repeating itself. The only way we could correct it was to insert the command ‘ELSE’ into the program. In Biblical language the ‘ELSE’ would not be in our favor. Why? It would take us out of God’s loop and would be God’s reprimand to us for not doing His will. Let’s stay in God’s loop then we can stand on God’s promises!!
Praise the Lord! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” (Philippians 4:13)

Think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths. —Proverbs 3:6
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told us to enter the narrow gate, for the gate is wide, and the highway is broad that leads to destruction, and many are traveling that way. “How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life” (Matt. 7:4), He said, “and few find it.” When memorizing Proverbs 3:6, we must prayerfully keep to the right path at every point. Look over these other verses that contain the same three words we see at the ending of Proverbs 3:6.
- Those who follow the right path fear the Lord. (Prov. 14:2 NLT)
- He will guide you on the right paths. (Prov. 3:6)
- I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. (Prov. 4:11 NKJV)

Exodus
Author: Not stated but traditionally attributed to Moses. In Exodus 34:27 God tells Moses :”Write thou these words”, and Jesus in Mark 12:26, quites from Exodus as “the book of Moses”.
Date written: Approximately the mid 1400s BC.
In ten words or less: God delivers his people, the Israelites, for slavery in Egypt.

God says obey authority set over you as if you were serving God. However, the Bible also repeatedly has examples where you obey God, not the authority over you if what you are to do goes against the will of God.
Exodus 1:17 (AMP) But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded, but let the male babies live.
Exodus 2:25 (AMP) God saw the Israelites and took knowledge of them and concerned Himself about them [knowing all, understanding, remembering all] (Psalm 56:8-9, 139:2).
Matthew 23:12-13 (NKJV) And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
