Updated for volume 12
To me the main point of the article cited below missed the point. The article was about the suffering of the people they were rescuing and how those people are still a threat because they believe in a cause. What I got out of it was that the IS leadership, like so many others before them took the money and ran, leaving deluded, destitute people to carry on the best they could. The leadership has a perverted mind and their followers do not see it. The leader sees power and money, the follower wants to believe that anything is better than what they left behind. It did not work out that way.
Um Rayyan, 25, said she remains a supporter but said she was disheartened by the group’s increasing corruption.
“When we first got to the State, everything was orderly. There was no differentiation between Iraqi or Syrian or foreigner,” she said. But in the final year, she said, the IS administration was monopolized by Iraqis who favored their own and kept all the jobs.
“I think this is the reason for the failure of the Islamic State … God protected us (from the international coalition.) But when there was corruption inside us, God stopped making us victorious,” she said, speaking while lying on a gurney at a makeshift open-air triage station, being treated by a U.S aid group. She had lost half her arm, and her leg was wounded from an explosion.
Proverbs 10:9 NKJV He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known.
James 4:8-10 (ESV) Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
How history and human nature repeats itself. The IS leaders ran off with he money and let their “faithful “bear the attack and ultimately dodge the defeat. SDF forced failed to cut the head off the snake. As the story indicated, many of the refugees see a future battle where they will rise again.
