You got me and Jesus

Songs like this get me through times of self doubt. I had someone arguing with me about a Facebook post today that was about how God loves you, I mean really loves YOU!

I’m looking for a link for this, but here is the words to the song

“Me And Jesus”

When there’s nowhere else to turn
All your bridges have been burned
Feels like you’ve hit rock bottom
Don’t give up it’s not the end
Open up your heart again
When you feel like no one
Understands where you are

Someone loves you even when you don’t think so don’t you know
You got me and Jesus
By your side through the fight you will never be alone on your own
You got me and Jesus

After all that we’ve been through
By now you know I’ve doubted too
But every time my head was in my
Hands you said to me

Someone loves you even when you don’t think so don’t you know
You got me and Jesus
By your side through the fight you will never be alone on your own
You got me and Jesus

Hold on to what we got
This is worth any cost so
Make the most of life that’s borrowed
Love like there’s no tomorrow

Someone loves you even when you don’t think so don’t you know
You got me and Jesus
By your side through the fight you will never be alone on your own
You got me and Jesus

Even when you don’t think so, don’t you know
You got me and Jesus
By your side through the fight you will never be alone on your own
You got me and Jesus
Someone loves you even when you don’t think so don’t you know
You got me and Jesus

You will never be alone
You got me and Jesus

God Loves YOU!

Do you understand that God Loves you? I mean really loves you. God loves you so much that he sent Jesus to us to die on a cross in our place. Do you have that much love for anybody? Without God I don’t.

So now what are you going to do about this?

John 3:16-21 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Speak Kindness

Sometimes life just gets in the way. Stress, work, problems, relationships don’t go at all well and our attitudes goes into the dumps with our circumstances.

Even if you have to just look in the mirror and repeat this do it. But better yet, do it for someone else who may need a kind word.

Proverbs 16:24 (KJV)  Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Proverbs16_4

Ephesians 4:31-32 (KJV) Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Be Kind. Scripture art by StudioJRU.

Fruit of the spirit; goodness

Galatians 5:22-26 (ESV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Okay the context of Galatians 5 is showing the difference between carnality (walking in the flesh) and spirituality (God’s Spirit in you). Notice that the word fruit in verse 22 is singular, not plural. These are not fruits of the spirit but evidence of the Holy spirit within manifesting these attributes in you. In other words, making you more like Jesus.

Today’s focus is goodness.  This is what the Strong’s says

from <H2895> (towb); good (as an adjective) in the widest sense; used likewise as a noun, both in the masculine and the feminine, the singular and the plural (good, a good or good thing, a good man or woman; the good, goods or good things, good men or women), also as an adverb (well) :- beautiful, best, better, bountiful, cheerful, at ease, × fair (word), (be in) favour, fine, glad, good (deed, -lier, -liest, -ly, -ness, -s), graciously, joyful, kindly, kindness, liketh (best), loving, merry, × most, pleasant, + pleaseth, pleasure, precious, prosperity, ready, sweet, wealth, welfare, (be) well ([-favoured]).

Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

Psalm 23:6 (KJV) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm23_6

Romans 15:14-16 (KJV) And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

Daily Bible Reading 08 December 2018

Good Morning world! God Bless you this day as you give honor to Him!

12/8/18 Daily Bible Reading: Hosea 8-10, Revelation 7, Proverbs 8

Hosea 8:1-3 (NKJV) “Set the trumpet(shofar – ram’s horn) to your mouth! He shall come like an eagle against the house of the LORD, Because they have transgressed My covenant And rebelled against My law. Israel will cry to Me, ‘My God, we know You!’  Israel has rejected the good; The enemy will pursue him.

Revelation 7:1-3 (NKJV) After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”

Prayer time

Tonight my prayer as I head off to bed is that we remember December 7, 1941.  Many US Servicemen perished in a suprise attack on Pearl Harbor Hawaii but Imperial Japanese Forces.  The US was not directly involved in World War 2 until this day in history.  I bear no ill will against anyone from Japan for this tragic event. but I mourn the senseless loss of so many American lives in a sneak attack.

Praise HIM!

Don’t you know you ought to praise the Lord?

Pray for strength and wisdom in the morning

Pray for guidance as the day goes on

Praise Him for answers you didn’t even expect

Praise Him in the evening that He got you through another day.

And before you sleep, Ask God to forgive you for anything you did wrong or missed

Then sleep a sound, unworried peaceful night  and wake up in the morning praising God and ready to do it again.

Loving the unloveable

Do you remember who you were when you “found” God? I do. Do you remember the Prodigal Son?  That was me.  I think many times after we have been living for God for a while we have a tendency to become the son who stayed, who felt snubbed by his father. Well if you read the rest of the story the father (God) said to his other son “You have always been with me. All I have is yours, you lack for nothing.”  this rebuke applies to many of us who forgot what God did for us, what he does for us every day. Love, unconditional, redemptive, over the top crazy love”

My challenge for you, if you will accept it, is to look on the poor, destitute, drug addicted, homeless, tatted up wanderer that you sidle away from and judge without saying so with a new set of spiritual eyes.  See yourself and what God saved you from and understand that we all need the Savior.

John 3:16 (ESV)  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Luke 15:11-32 NKJV Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything. “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”‘ And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’  “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.  “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. So, he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’ “But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore, his father came out and pleaded with him. So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.’  “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.'”
